A largely winter landscape on volcanic crater overlooks the moving clouds and bright spots of the
lake
.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
8 seconds and 26 frames.
Wind on water is visible throughout this frame. Strong gusts push the water chaotically on the
surface of the vast, deep volcanic caldera. So much freshwater fills this vast crater that it is one
of the deepest lakes in the world, the lake spans well outside the viewing angle of this POV. After
days of solitude and nothing but clouds, light shafts eventually peak through the cloud and snowfall
to brightly illuminate sections of water next to Wizard Hat Island.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
17 seconds and 5 frames.
On vast lake when medium heavy clouds pass quicky on the wind and water. Heavy clouds over Crater
Lake.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
20 seconds and 8 frames.
… with wind on the water under light clouds. Physically panning on the lake, from the scree slide of
the southwest next to Wizard Hat Island. The gentler wind creates small ripples on the lake in the
afternoon, low clouds in the sky. Similar to another clip.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
5 seconds and 19 frames.
… afternoon cast shadows on the sparing water beneath. The continuation of another clip. The camera’s
orientation and position has been adjusted.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
9 seconds and 3 frames.
Wind breezes on water, pristinely colored in the caldera of the dead volcano. The snow on the left hand
of the frame persists on the rim of the lake, and the sky has lower and high-level clouds- Cirrus and
contrails.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
9 seconds and 8 frames.
Winter on Crater Lake: the snow covering the landscape is fresh. The vast lake is not entirely in the
shadows of the clouds, as a break in the layer of thick low-level cover reveals light on the lake. The
turbulent winds blow on the water, making their marks on the surface as they travel, along with the
shadows. Blue sky patches are slowly covered by dawn clouds, which clearly precipitate on the opposing
side of the caldera, near Wizard Hat Island. The ridge that comprises the crater’s rim, a drop of 100s
of feet, is a winter forest.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
43 seconds and 12 frames.
The lake caldera spans the frame, with Wizard Hat Island in the upper-right of the frame. The snow on
the north facing slopes make the right-side of the frame a winter landscape around the water. The lake
itself has many different breezes playing on its surface, owing to the shape of the rim that encircles
it. Rocky cliffs frame the lower left and right, with smaller junipers and other species of trees.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
12 seconds and 5 frames.
